Digital Sign Policy

Last Updated Date

The purpose of the indoor and outdoor digital signs is to promote and market Library services, programs, events and resources. Content is limited to Library Sponsored or co-sponsored events, Library services and resources, or to news of high importance to the entire community as determined by the Library Director or Library Director’s appointee. The sign is not available for the promotion of private businesses, for the sale of goods and services, nor to promote meetings and events taking place in the library’s meeting spaces which are not sponsored by the Library.

Procedures: The Public Services Librarian and/or Technology Coordinator are responsible for content displayed on the signs. Any requests for promoting services, programs, events or resources on the signs should be forwarded to these persons.

Not-for-profit Otsego County groups and organizations may make requests to promote programs and activities having a significant impact on and being of interest to the entire community. The request, including dates needed and suggested wording to be used, must be made in writing to the Library Director at least five working days prior to date requested. The Library reserves the right to determine exact wording and to refuse any request. Only one non-library message will be displayed on a sign at any given time.
